Ram RB 25 Seam Tape is an elastomeric single-sided adhesive tape used to seal the seams of the RAM RB series of root barriers. The black polymer backing and very aggressive adhesive is specifically formulated to provide
maximum performance in a green roof and planter application.
Ram RB 25 Seam Tape is used at all seams for Ram RB 20 and 30 to prevent roots from penetrating.
- The performance of the seam tape requires proper surface
condition and installation temperature. The RAM RB 25 Seam
Tape must be dry and free from dust or any substance the
could interfere with the adhesion of the tape. If the root barrier
has been exposed to construction dirt or dust before the seam
tape is installed, the seaming area must be cleaned with a
mild detergent, rinsed, and allowed to dry completely. Solvent
cleaners may damage the root barrier material or leave a
residue that adversely affects adhesion. All laps shall be 12
inches in preparation for taping the seams.
- RAM RB 25 Seam Tape can be cut to length with a utility knife
or scissors. Carefully position the tape centered over the
seam prior to removing the release liner as it adheres very
aggressively and cannot be removed or realigned. When
the tape is running true over the seam, remove the release
liner, and apply it to the root barrier surface, avoiding air pockets
and “fishmouths.” Apply pressure to the surface of the tape
with a 4-inch-wide J-Roller.
- Do not expose to temperatures greater than 200°F
- Store in dry, protected location
- Do not expose to open flames
